A Gift for Confidence






Confidence Chikere is a seventeen year old Deaf Senior student at the Special School for Handicapped Children in Port Harcourt. Confidence was the overall best performing senior student in academics in the KIR Foundation 5th Prize Giving and Book Donation Day Project and a recipient of the Adebola Daniel Prize (http://deboladanielfoundation.org) which comprised of a brand new samsung J1 smart phone and the entire set of the WAEC Preparatory Examination Past Question Papers Series.


In an interview with Ohakwe Onyediziri, a sign language interpreter, Confidence thanked KIR Foundation and Debola Daniel Foundation for the gift she received.  She was visibly excited to receive the phone as she had never owned a phone before. She promised to be more diligent in her academics.

Confidence wants to become a fashion designer and desires to be more ICT literate. She promised to put the phone to good use and said that it will enable her to be part of a more inclusive society.
